Tips for choosing envelopes

Our top 7 tips for choosing envelopes:

  • We recommend that you always organise your invites before you buy envelopes. This way you can make sure that your beautiful invite fits.
  • Envelopes should be slightly larger than the invitations. For example a 160mm Sq envelope would hold a 150mm Sq card. This stops the invitations getting damaged as it travels through the postal system.
  • To avoid the task of licking large numbers of envelopes, we suggest using envelope seals or double sided tape.
  • Check with Australia Post to confirm postage rates. Standard postage rates allow for a size of 130mm x 210mm, no thicker than 5mm and a maximum weight 250g
  • Always print in black and pick a clear font to aid in 100% deliverability.
  • Coloured envelopes are a nice touch and are usually no more expensive. Recipients will know your envelope is not a bill when they see it in the letterbox.
  • Remember if using a dark colour make sure you use a white address label.
